Almost 53% of children are sexually abused in India every year. The person who is abusive might be the kid’s teacher, classmate, close relative, father, friend or any stranger. Since so many youngsters are not aware of the issue, they won’t help a girl even if the incidents are taking place in their vicinity.
You took away my innocence, but you can never take away my spirit to survive

When the kid is sexually abused in their house by a close relative or known person, parents become so reluctant to report it to the police and act as if everything is normal. The trauma of sexual abuse lasts longer and the victim suffers from psychological issues even after growing up.
Parents should make up time for their kids every day and ask them about their kid’s routine and how the day was and what incidents and conversations happened with them throughout the day.
In this way, if any unnatural and problematic events have occurred, those can be brought to light. Also to prevent such kind of abuse, educate your kids without any hesitation and make them grow with confidence and away from trauma. Never ever try to suppress a kid’s voice by saying hideous things like “it will be our little secret”, “it is ok and don’t tell anyone”. Protect and listen to your child with at most care.

And many hesitate to come out because of what society says and continue to suffer and never communicate with others about the issue. This can cause great mental stress and can affect the person’s personality entirely.
“Things happen to you in your life, but you don’t want to consider yourself to be victim-you want to be a survivor and the first thing that helps you do that and helps to you to get through it is speaking and finding your voice.”
