Rape is a heinous act which is performed with a girl or a boy, but what if the husband rapes his wife? Who will protect her? Marriage is supposed to be a bond between two individuals who are in love and care for each other and respect each other and not think another person as an object. Yes, marital rape exists and lot of petitions have been submitted but it is not criminalised in Indian constitution.
In our constitution, sexual intercourse or sexual acts by a man with his wife, the wife not being under 15 years of age, is not a rape.
I say nothing, not one word, from beginning to end, and neither does he. If it were lawful for a women to hate her husband, I would hate him as a rapist.

Our country cannot criminalise marital rape and this is the justification given to us,
”It is considered that the concept of marital rape, as understood internationally, cannot be suitably applied in the Indian context due to various factors like level of education/illiteracy, poverty, myriad social customs and values, religious beliefs, mind-set of the society to treat marriage as a sacrament etc.”
From the above statement, a girl cannot report marital rape in the country, is not it the saddest part for a girl to suffer from her own partner and no one is helping her?
If our ministers are giving illiteracy and lack of awareness as a reason, is that not their responsibility to educate women and men of the country and protect women of the country and protect her from the rape?
Tying knot without girl’s consent is the thing after which rape becomes legal. A bed of thorns awaits for you covered with flowers all around.

Women are not sex objects or marriage is not an institution which gives all rights to husband on his wife’s body. Everyone should respect her body. If the wife does not give her husband the consent but still he forces her into sex, it makes him a rapist. Marriage will not be a sacred event if woman is ill-treated just after tying knots.
Marital rape is much more painful than rape because you have to get up with the tears and wipe it off with the same bed on which before you used to cuddle.
